What services are integrated?

  • Website Payments Standard - customers are redirected to PayPal after reviewing their order to complete payment; they return to your Ubercart site once payment is completed
  • Website Payments Pro - customers checkout through Ubercart and PayPal is used as a payment gateway for you to process credit cards from within your site; customers never leave your site
  • Express Checkout - customers are redirected to PayPal where they login to their PayPal accounts; they are then sent back to your Ubercart site to finish checkout, choosing a shipping method and providing a company name/phone number if needed before approving the total payment

Advantages:

  • Easy to use - PayPal user's interface is very easy and simple to use.
  • Easy to manage - once your account is created the transactions and all related to your money is kept in place for you to maintain and manage it very easy.
  • Free - registration and management is completely free, they only change a little % on every transaction.

Disadvantages:

  • Send customers out to pay - when a customer check out on your site they need to be send out of the site (to paypal.com) in order to place a payment.
  • Credit cards handling - Even when they deny it, based on our experience, we can say that not all credit cards all accepted.
  • Customer's loyalty - Unfortunately once the customer is out site of the website we have no control on what could happen, customers can just go to another site, forget to click to come back or simply close the browser and we don't get any information about it.
